Time to grieve

Over a year ago, I was standing on a chair attempting to change lightbulbs in the living room. I lost my balance and fell to the floor. Can you imagine how defeated I felt sitting on the floor looking up at the burned-out lights? I scooted over to the couch and got the bleeding stopped. I had cut my thumb in a successful attempt to keep from breaking the new bulbs. Then, I just sat on the couch for a while feeling sorry for myself. Over a year later, I realize that it is okay to feel defeated sometimes. We can simply sit and feel sorry for ourselves for a while. Those feelings are real. In time, like I did, we need to get up off the couch and move forward. Take time to grieve, to be angry, to feel defeated, to feel whatever you feel in this time of loss. Then, get back up and begin again. Peace.
