Imagine you have badly broken your leg. Do you go to the doctor for a cast and crutches? Or do you try to walk in the pain alone to prove that you are stronger than any broken bone? Just because your broken heart is less visible than your broken leg does not mean your heart is less deserving of care and attention. There are people who will love you, encourage you and support you if you will give them the chance. Grief Comfort comes immediately to mind, offering classes several times each year. Counselors and therapists are wonderful resource people. Your pastor and church family can be very helpful as well. Do not try to walk through this time alone. Gather around you the support you both need and deserve. It is absolutely okay to ask for help now and then.
