Holiday grief and new traditions

We tend to miss our precious ones even more at Christmas. They seem even more absent, don’t they? And holidays are such a time of old family traditions which can make things even worse. I simply cannot put up a Christmas tree anymore. I did finally buy a “Charlie Brown Christmas Tree” for my office. It was my way of recognizing the season without going into the tender traditions. Some choose to leave an empty chair at the table to represent their precious ones. Some have a special toast to the absent ones. It is important, in this season that comes around each year, to find a way to remember and still celebrate the season. Find the ritual or token that comforts you and make it a new holiday tradition. Blessings.
