Grieving job loss

You have been with this company for years, planned to retire from there. Now the offices are moving to a new city. Your position is gone. Or, you have trained all your life and have acquired the dream job. Six months later, the CEO is indicted for embezzling funds. The company cannot survive. Your job will not be transferred to the new company. It is perfectly acceptable to grieve such a loss. We identify ourselves by our jobs. Now a part of your identity is gone. It goes back to the question we looked at a few weeks ago. What am I supposed to do now? Take time to grieve. Then begin again. It is the same as all grievers must do. We must begin again, and we must determine what will be our new normal.
